We’re excited to introduce you to the NYU Steinhardt New Undergraduate Experience, which consists of several key components to welcome you to our vibrant community and help prepare you for student life at NYU. Read about these components below and mark your calendars.

Complete your Online Orientation, May - June 2023
In mid-May you will receive access to your Online Orientation, which includes information about your first semester courses, degree requirements, how to use NYU Albert to register, and information about student life, clubs, and other opportunities at NYU Steinhardt. You must complete your Online Orientation in order to be cleared by your academic advisor to enroll in your fall courses. Your link to access Online Orientation is just for your use only, and will be sent to your personal email account, not to your NYU email.

Plan and Register for your Fall Courses, June 2023
Online Orientation will provide you with information on the courses that you need to take during your first semester. After receiving this information, you can begin planning your schedule by searching for your required courses in the Fall 2023 course catalog on NYU Albert. Registration will open for you on Monday, June 12 after you successfully complete of Online Orientation. As a way to get started, you can review our Albert Course Search guide to familiarize yourself with how to explore classes.

Fall at Steinhardt Preview, June 2023
Join the Office of Student Affairs and your department to learn about the upcoming semester and meet other students starting this fall at NYU Steinhardt. Hear from current student leaders, and get answers to questions you may have before registration begins on Monday, June 12. 

NYU Welcome, August 28–September 8, 2023
Through this series of events sponsored by NYU Steinhardt and the University community, you'll be able to participate in workshops, activities, and service-learning projects with peers from all NYU schools. You’ll attend the Deans' Welcome and also have a chance to meet with your academic advisor and peer mentors to make sure you’re all set for the fall semester.

New Student Seminar (SAHS-UE.1), Fall 2023
In this course, you will explore your role as a student in our diverse and global academic community. New Student Seminar also introduces you to your program of study as an aspiring professional in your chosen field. You'll discuss the literary work selected for NYU Reads and its connection to your journey as a new student. The New Student Seminar is a required first semester course for new undergraduate students.
