A message from President Bret Danilowicz
Greetings Highlanders!
I want to share my gratitude for what we accomplished in 2024 here at Radford University. Each of you helped us achieve and exceed our goals to serve students, continuously improved our learning environment, and showed prospective Highlanders and their families that they can find their place, here.
Thank you for all that you do for Radford University and the communities that we serve.
To show our appreciation for your efforts, the university will extend an additional 8 hours of employee recognition leave for Monday, Dec. 23. The winter holiday break will begin on this day and will continue, as previously scheduled, through Jan. 1, 2025.
| |
Additionally, the 2025 Holiday Schedule has been approved and is available on the HR website.
On behalf of myself and First Lady Kay, we want to share our warmest wishes with you and your loved ones for a happy holiday season. We’re looking forward to a memorable and successful new year in 2025.
Tartan Proud,
President Bret Danilowicz

Windows feature update in January |
University-owned Windows laptops running Windows 11 will receive the latest Windows feature update beginning on Friday, Jan. 6. This update, implemented by Radford University’s Information Technology Services, will be delivered from Microsoft just like other updates but is more of an overall OS update.
It may take up to 60 minutes to install, depending on the speed of your computer. There could be as many as three reboots during this process. To prevent problems with your system, please allow the update to complete installation before attempting to power down your computer. Please ensure that your computer is plugged into power until the updates are complete.

Be sure to check out the latest issue of Radford magazine |
The fall 2024 issue of Radford magazine chronicles our university’s impact on the world as told through the stories of students, employees, alumni and donors. While this impact originates in classrooms, research labs, performance halls and playing fields on our campuses, it ripples out over local communities, Southwest Virginia and the commonwealth and eventually sweeps across our nation and around the world. We hope that these stories inspire you to imagine new ways to impact the lives of the people we serve in the coming year.
