Wiesner-Hanks, Ph.D., American Historian and Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Weisner-Hanks will give a lecture titled Foremothers: Remembering Women and the Reformations.

Baylor's Institute for Faith and Learning is holding their annual symposium on faith and culture. Â Featured speakers include Jemar Tisby, Tish Harrison Warren, and Elisabeth Kincaid, the new director of IFL. Faculty, staff, and students of Baylor may attend conference events (except for meals) free of charge, but please register. On the registration form, an option to purchase meals is provided.

Between rhetorical concerns, effective self-marketing, and depicting a range of academic experience, there are many factors to keep up with. Â This workshop will discuss best practices and walk through exercises to assist you in drafting this crucial part of your academic applications. Register here. The Critical Language Scholarship is a Department of State funded program for US citizens that promotes the study of 12 different critical languages.  CLS is an 8-10 week in person program that takes place next summer to study 1 of twelve eligible languages, and is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Info sessions for the CLS will be held October 7th and 8th in Cashion 101 at 4pm, and on October 9th at 3:30pm on Zoom.  Please reach out to Anna Beaudry with questions.

The Boren Fellowship is a Department of Defense program for US citizens that funds  6+ months of international study.  Boren Fellowships can be awarded for overseas language study, academic study, research (either Master’s or Ph.D. level), an academic internship, or any combination of the above. Following the completion of their education, awardees must commit to working for the federal government for at least one year.  Info sessions for both the CLS and Boren will be held October 7th and 8th in Cashion 101 at 4pm, and on October 9th at 3:30pm on Zoom.  Please reach out to Anna Beaudry with questions.

The Graduate School is pleased to launch a new role: graduate chaplains!  Our inaugural chaplains are Kyle Perry (chaplain for residential students) and Jackson Giwa (chaplain for hybrid/online students).
