Two-night festival features ‘Fr. TED Talks’ on Catholic social tradition

Honoring the legacy of President Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., the Notre Dame Forum will host Fr. TED Talks: Ideas from the Catholic Social Tradition That We Find Inspiring. The series will feature four 10-minute talks each night, ending with addresses by alumnus Dr. Jim O’Connell on Monday and President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., on Tuesday.

Behind the scenes at Inauguration Build 2024 

In honor of the Inauguration of President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., the University partnered with Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County for Inauguration Build 2024. Nearly 750 faculty and staff volunteers helped Habitat construct five affordable homes for local families. In this podcast episode, NDWorks takes you to the build site to explore the progress being made along Harrison Avenue in South Bend.

New name for Institute for Social Concerns reflects expanded research, teaching, and partnerships

The Center for Social Concerns will now be called the Institute for Social Concerns. The name change signals its status as a scholarly unit with faculty from various departments, colleges, and schools whose activities contribute to a comprehensive, multifaceted interdisciplinary mission.
University institutes are one of the ways in which the University thinks as an institution. They bring faculty and students together for multidisciplinary teaching and research that is often imaginative and daring.” Vice President and Associate Provost Maura Ryan

Building Services, Sustainability work to expand on recycling successes

Last year, the University implemented an updated recycling program, which prioritized expanding recycling to all residence halls and piloting updates in select academic buildings and office spaces. This year, the recycling process will further expand and improve.
