Highlights from The Black Male S.T.E.A.M. Summit |
High school and undergraduate Black youth gathered at Meharry Medical College for a day long event to discover more about careers in health. This educational program, co-sponsored by the MVA, Meharry Medical College and The Urban League of Middle Tennessee Guild, offered a variety of high impact activities led by medical students and faculty. Students were immersed in experiential learning at Meharry's simulation lab. They were invited to explore their universe through physics and encouraged to develop stronger hearts and minds with a motivational speaker. This year, former NFL player Isaiah N. Johnson, took the stage and emphasized the need for young men to learn the power of resilience while chasing their dreams.
