Looking to get creative in the kitchen this Women’s Day weekend? Try your hand at this recipe for Rooibos-spiced biscuits.

Ingredients:

½ cup brewed Rooibos (strong, cooled)
2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ cup sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg

Method:

Preheat the oven to 175°C and line a baking tray.
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Mix in the egg and cooled Rooibos tea.
Stir in the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
Roll out the dough, cut into shapes, and bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
This recipe works as a base for most homemade baking recipes, try adding a drizzle of chocolate or a sprinkle of icing sugar once cooled!
