Mississippi State Department of Health Youth Empowerment Grant
NEW! Anti-Vaping PSA Contest
Attention Mississippi Educators - the CATCH My Breath Anti-Vaping PSA contest application is now open! We want to empower your students to share their voice and choice to not vape or use e-cigarettes by creating an anti-vaping public service announcement (PSA).
We’re asking students in Mississippi to help us design a vaping prevention poster or short video that can be used to support the CATCH My Breath program in your state. Submissions are due on Friday, May 9th by 5:00pm CT. Click here for more information.
If your school is in Mississippi and you’d like to learn more about how you can get involved, send an email to catchmybreath@catch.org.
RECAP! Statewide Clearing the Air Virtual Field Trip
On April 1st, more than 18,000 students from 183 schools across Mississippi took on the youth vaping crisis by participating in a statewide “Virtual Field Trip” where they learned how to think critically about the health harms of e-cigarettes and pick up effective refusal skills. The event, backed by the Office of Tobacco Control at the Mississippi Department of Health and hosted by CATCH Global Foundation, was the state’s way of participating in the Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action.
