Coat Drive a Success

The annual Coat Drive resulted in a van-ful of coats, gloves and hats to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia. The drive was part of the annual REALTORS® Reach Out campaign, a month-long state-wide initiative recognizing the volunteerism and service efforts of REALTORS®. This was the sixth year the association has held a coat drive for the organization.

Great thanks to all the members and offices who contributed to keep this annual drive a success!

Know Your Responsibilities as a Landlord or Property Manager in Pennsylvania

The Housing Equality Center of Pennsylvania has created a new comprehensive fair housing manual for landlords and property managers. This resource includes detailed information on compliance with the Fair Housing Act and Pennsylvania Human Relations Act as well as Pennsylvania Landlord Tenant Law as it pertains to the rental of private residential property.

Electronic Forms Benefit Transitioning to PA REALTORS®

Beginning January 1, 2022, your Lone Wolf (zipForm) member benefit will transition to the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®. It previously was a benefit through membership with the National Association of REALTORS®.

Lone Wolf will automatically move all PAR members' free access over to PAR's account as of January 1. View FAQs about the zipForm transition.

In addition, PAR will host a webinar on the transition on Monday, December 20.

Expect Unseasonably Hot Winter for Home Sales

This winter is expected to be unseasonably hot for the housing market, according to NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. "During this winter there will be more sales compared to pre-pandemic winters going back all the way to 2006," he explained.

Chesco Launches Partnership to End Homelessness

Chester County is launching the Partnership to End Homelessness, a new program reflecting a reinforced commitment to helping the most vulnerable residents find or keep a stable place to live. The partnership, organized by Chester County's Department of Community Development, consists of a team of street outreach workers, a board of advocates and nonprofit organizations that provide shelter and service. Hundreds of people in the county lack a stable place to live on any given day, and the pandemic only exacerbated the problem, according to a county press release. Outreach workers are now county employees rather than contractors, and the program's advisory board includes individuals who experienced homelessness. The county also increased funding for the nonprofit agencies who provide shelter and transitional homes. Learn more at the Chester County Partnership to End Homelessness website.
