Alumni Panel: The Graduate School is partnering with the Alumni Center on Tuesday, April 14th, from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m., to host a panel that will feature three alumni from different career paths to share how they bring the skills and experiences they learned from graduate school into their careers. The panel will begin with guided questions and then will open for audience questions. Registration for the online panel is now open.
Attend the 3-Minute Thesis Competition: The 3-Minute Thesis Competition provides a unique opportunity for graduate students to share their work with the broader community in a fun and exciting format. The 3MT allows graduate students to present their research in just 3 minutes with the aid of a single slide. The competition is open for all students to vote for the People’s Choice winner. The competition will be held on Tuesday, March 31st, at 5:00 p.m. in Loosemore Auditorium.
Violence Prevention / Healthy Relationships Workshop: Join The Graduate School for the Violence Prevention/Healthy Relationships Workshop on Thursday, March 19th, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. We focus on issues of gender-based violence and use an anti-oppression lens to explore the different ways we can collectively work together to form a compassionate community. Our programming aims to create spaces that are affirming and supportive for victims/survivors and advocates for healing, restorative practices, and growth. Make sure to register.
Winter 2026 Citation Awards Faculty Submissions: The Graduate School recognizes the outstanding achievements of students and faculty each semester at the Graduate School Citations for Academic Excellence. Students can nominate faculty members who they believe have invaluable contributions to teaching, mentorship, and inclusion. All faculty nominations undergo a thorough review process in collaboration with the GSA. Nominations are due by April 3rd, 2026.
Graduate Showcase: The Graduate Showcase is an event offered by The Graduate School and Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence to highlight exceptional work done by graduate students. This event features graduate poster presentations on a wide variety of research and scholarly activities from all disciplines. If you are interested in participating, talk to your Graduate Program Director about a submission. Submissions for the Graduate Showcase are due April 6th, 2026.
Graduate Assistant Highlight: Rachel Lappano is a Master of Social Work student and a graduate assistant for the Battle Creek Scholars Program. The Battle Creek Scholars Program provides individualized academic plans, personal support, study skills assistance, peer mentorship, and many more resources for the students in the program.
