DC Trip During Spring Break
The Academy is offering a 4-day, trip to Washington, DC during Spring Break to all Academy students. The trip will offer students opportunities to see historical monuments, world-class Smithsonian Museums, and experience this culturally significant and unique city in the US. The cost of $500 covers all expenses, including meals, transportation, and hotel accommodations. A packet for parents is available by clicking this link. Forms and payments are due by January 12. Please contact Dr. Bloomfield with any questions.
Spring Break Trip to Nantucket for
Grades 9 - 12
In collaboration with the Maria Mitchell Association (MMA) on Nantucket, we are planning a 5 day/4 night visit to the island for a field-science based exploration of the coastal ecosystem there.  Participants will spend considerable time outside, learning about the plant and animal life of various island habitats. Working with MMA and other educational organizations, students will have the opportunity to consider the geological history, birds, plants, and marine animals found on Nantucket, both year-round and in the case of birds, during a migratory season, through the lens of art as well as science.
The finer details about the trip will be available after our holiday break. Depending upon the number of participants, the cost per person for this five-day "Nantucket Experience" (including all program fees, accommodations, transportation, and meals while on the island) will be between $550 and $600. We need a minimum of six people to make it a go, and we'll need commitments by the middle of January.
During vacation, please contact Martha Tirk with preliminary interest or any questions.
