What started as small seedlings is now the beginning of something meaningful across our community.
A huge thank you to Green Bay Botanical Garden for sharing starter plants with our Community Gardens program participants. They’ve made their way into the hands of families, farmers, and community partners who will turn them into fresh food, shared meals, and new traditions.
We’re so excited to watch these gardens take root, grow, and flourish all season long.

Garden Smarts Pilot Program |
Our Garden Smarts pilot at Oneida Emergency Food Pantry & Oneida Food Distribution brought hands-on learning to life! Over 6 weeks, students explored gardening through fun activities like building rain gauges and mini compost systems—learning where food comes from and how to care for it.
The impact didn’t stop in the garden—students brought their excitement home, inspiring families to connect, grow, and learn together. This program is more than a pilot—it’s a seed of community growth, one family at a time.
Meet our team:
Samantha (Pantry Office Manager & mom of Tonya (Nutrition Educator), and Sarah (Extension Educator) all share a passion for connecting families with healthy food and the outdoors.

2026 Custom Rate Survey Preliminary Results:
Still Time to Participate!
The 2026 planting season in Wisconsin is underway, and we are pleased to present preliminary findings from the 2025 Wisconsin Custom Rate Survey. This early release highlights rates for tillage and field preparation, planting activities, and the application of fertilizers and chemicals. A comprehensive report covering all field operations, along with updated figures, will be made available in the coming weeks.
Survey participants provided custom rates for 2025 data crop year. The reported rates include fuel and the driver. These figures are intended as general benchmarks; actual rates may differ based on local supply, demand, and operating conditions. To provide additional context, we include the range of reported values and the number of responses, allowing users to gauge the level of variation and reliability of the estimates.
