To Our Campus Community:
In response to an increased demand for COVID-19 testing, we have partnered with the testing company, Curative, to host an on-campus testing site. It is our hope that providing this quick and convenient resource on campus will encourage awareness and increased vigilance as we continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 and its variants.
Testing site
We will host free testing Monday - Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 5050 Oak Street. A mobile testing unit is set up in the empty lot on the north side of Pizza 51. The testing site offers shallow nasal PCR test with results expected one to two days after the lab receives the sample. Appointments are available, but not required, for our students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public. You can book an appointment here beginning Feb.16.
Reporting positive COVID-19 results, exposures or symptoms
We have updated our reporting procedures for employees. Supervisors should now email HRCOVIDNotification@umkc.edu to report when employees are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, have been exposed to COVID-19 or have tested positive. You can see the complete reporting process for employees here. For the student reporting process, click here.
On-campus vaccination clinics
We continue to urge vaccination for members of our campus community. We are hosting a series of vaccination clinics through May in partnership with the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center. Vaccinations are available for the general public as well as for students, faculty and staff. The clinics will be held at the Student Union in the Jazzman’s Café and Bakery Stage Area at the following dates and times:
- Feb 15: 1-5 p.m.
- March 1: 1-5 p.m.
- March 15: 1-5 p.m.
- April 5: 1-5 p.m.
- May 3: 1-5 p.m.
Additional testing and vaccination resources
Please continue to observe these best practices for slowing the spread of COVID-19 on campus:
- Getting vaccinated and, when eligible, getting a booster.
- Wearing a well-fitting mask in all indoor settings.
- Self-monitoring for symptoms and staying home when sick.
- Getting tested if you are symptomatic and following CDC guidelines if you test positive.
I am proud of the work that our campus community has done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a safe learning environment. Thank you for your commitment to keeping all Roos safe.
In this together,
C. Mauli Agrawal, Ph.D.
