| Interfaith Field Trip Week Contest Winner

We wrapped up our Interfaith Spring Field Trip series this month, work that was funded by our Advancing Religious Pluralism Grant from Interfaith America. We entered antendees into a raffle for a Tufts tote bag filled with picnic goodies and Tufts University Medical School student Melissa Calica won - congratulations Melissa! Melissa shared, "I thoroughly enjoyed the Interfaith Field Trip Week through Tufts Chaplaincy. It was fun to meet students from multiple campuses, different faiths, and varied experience levels. Learning about multiple religions in their place of worship inspires me to go back and visit these areas again!"

Senior Awards Night Save the Date - and Nominate a Senior Today!
Nominations deadline extended until April 23
This year, the University Chaplaincy hosts its fourth annual celebration to honor and uplift the wonderful contributions of our seniors and young alumni across all of our religious and philosophical communities. You are welcome to submit more than one nomination, as well as to nominate yourself. You can nominate anonymously or share your name and email. Sharing your information ensures that you will be notified of the final awards decisions and Senior Award Celebration. All nominees will be honored at our celebration, featuring delicious food and mocktails, at the Interfaith Center on Wednesday, April 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please submit all nominations by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 through the form below. In the last three years, through the synodal process he envisioned and led, Francis invited us to listen to one another and to see where the spirit was leading us as a church. Let us live into that wisdom today. Join us on Wednesday, April 23, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Goddard Chapel. Through lighting candles, telling stories, writing prayers, and listening deeply to one another, we will honor his legacy and ministry.

Buddha Day Celebration: Vesak Tuesday, April 29, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Interfaith Center
The Buddha's birthday, enlightenment, and passing away are celebrated around the world in May. This celebration is traditionally called Vesak. We will celebrate Vesak with the Small Art, Big Wisdom art show, watering the Baby Buddha ritual, chanting, and inspirations from the Buddhist teachers. Kwibuka 31 Remember, Unite, Renew Friday, April 25, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Interfaith Center
Join the Rwandan community at Tufts for the 31st Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. We will gather to honor the memory of the victims through reflection and remembrance. The event will include a panel discussion on the history of the genocide, the impact of collective memory, and the ongoing fight against denial and misinformation. The I-Center and immigration attorney Prasant Desai will discuss the current state of immigration, how to prepare for increased enforcement, and offer a Q&A for faculty, staff, and students. Commemorates the 12 days that Baha'u'llah spent in the Garden of Ridvan in the last days of his exile in Baghdad, during which time he proclaimed himself as the one announced by Bab. Work is suspended for the first, ninth, and twelfth days. Observances may include limits to participation in academics or work.
Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day)
Wednesday, April 23 – Thursday, April 24, 2025
Begins at sundown on the first day listed. Holocaust Memorial Day. Memorializes the six million Jews who died as victims of the Nazis during World War II and emphasizes respect for human dignity. Its observance is not limited to Jews.

Begins at sundown on the first day listed. The final fertility festival, celebrating the Earth's fecundity and anticipating the power of the sun and the Earth in summer.
