Reflecting on 2023
As we reach the end of 2023 we are doing our fair share of reflecting around the halls of HDP. Something we're thinking a lot about is culture and the collaborative culture in Harney County. Some of that is born out of necessity living in a frontier rural place where life depends on each of us helping our neighbors. This place definitely lends itself to people working together but there is also consistent intention and effort behind building this culture. From a past blog,
How Change Happens by Seth Godin he begins:
Slowly then all at once
For people who aren’t paying attention or actively involved, it can seem like cultural change is sudden. One big shift after another.
In fact, cultural change always happens relatively slowly. Person by person, conversation by conversation. Expectations are established, roles are defined, systems are built.
From the foundation
This is precisely how it happened in Harney County, person by person and conversation by conversation and this is how it continues to happen as Harney County's collaborative culture continues to build and be reinforced.
As the support engine for collaboration in Harney County we are incredibly thankful for the people having these conversations and for the multiple funders financially supporting working together.
Please page through our
2023 Year-In-Review magazine for highlights of accomplishments generated by working together, gratitude of the past year and hopes for 2024.
All our best to you this holiday season.
