Public Policy and Veterans Elective

Mr. Paul Dillon, a professor with the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy is offering a spring semester course on Public Policy and Veterans which still has openings available!
The course will analyze a range of public policy responses and programs implemented to meet the needs of those who have served in the military and consider how these initiatives have influenced programs that apply to the general population, as well as veterans. Students will have the opportunity to engage with subject matter experts on issues critical to the veteran community, such as mental health and substance abuse, the problem of homelessness and housing, community and NGO support services, legal issues relating to veterans and veterans’ treatment courts that are similar to civilian drug diversion courts, entrepreneurship, and employment programs. Students also will participate in “real-world”, implementable projects that have a direct benefit to local and national veteran related non-profit organizations. The course is listed as PubPol 590.04.
If you have questions about the class, please email Mr. Paul Dillon at dillonconsult@icloud.com.
