Rome Global Gateway launches online platform for Catholic academic events

In partnership with local Catholic Roman institutions, the Rome Global Gateway is creating a unique online platform that will feature events organized by Italian and Pontifical Catholic institutions in Rome. This is the first time these featured events will all reside in one place.

From Brazil to Rome: A Notre Dame's student experience with the new study abroad locally program

In early July, Nicole Marinho Vieira Weiss found out she would not be able to attend the University of Notre Dame’s campus due to the new COVID-19 regulations. The finance and economics major was excited to start her freshman year, but quickly found herself overwhelmed with disappointment, and started searching for other solutions in Brazil and abroad to start the academic year on time. 

Students stay connected to Rome through virtual internships

Danny Shaw, James Sumantri and Julia Pesola are three of the Notre Dame students who were studying abroad in Rome when the coronavirus outbreak unfolded. They left Italy very quickly to move back to their home countries, cutting short their study abroad experience. When they heard about the opportunity to start a virtual internship in Rome from their sofas, they jumped at the chance.

Rome Global Gateway hosts first hybrid event after COVID-19

In September, the Rome Global Gateway (RGG), in collaboration with the international doctoral program in Contemporary Humanism of LUMSA University, organized the first hybrid (in-person and online) event of the fall semester. This was the first in-person event organized taking into account recent governmental regulations, as well as social distancing.
