The Shine.FM religious network is based on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The network includes two Indiana radio stations: WHZN (88.3fm, New Whiteland) covers the Indianapolis metro, while WTMK (88.5fm, Wanatah) covers northwest Indiana. Shine.FM has a new network PD: Don Burns. Mr. Burns last worked as GM at The House FM (Ponca City, Oklahoma) and The Praise FM in Kansas. Mr. Burns also takes afternoons alongside evening personality Daneli Rabanalez Hernandez. Ms. Hernandez did evenings for the past two years, and also serves as MD of their Spanish Brila FM. Megan Groen steps into evenings. Ms. Groen is a sophomore at ONU.
Northcentral
Sound Management, LLC sells their trio of radio stations for $3.4 million to Artistic Media Partners. Their portfolio includes CHR/WNDV (92.9fm, South Bend), Rock/WYXX (97.7fm, Goshen) and 1980s/WYET (102.3fm, New Carlisle). In October 2014, Sound Management paid Artistic Media Partners $3.5 million for the trio.
Central
Radio One begins testing out their WNOW-HD3 (100.9fm-HD3, Speedway), also heard on translator W285FC (105.1fm, Indianapolis). An IRW reader shared several small audio clips, which featured heavy metal or alternative music.
Sabbath Incorporated signs on their low power WSHT-FM (100.1fm, Indianapolis) with a Beautiful Music/Easy Listening format. WSHT has a a 100 watt signal, with their antenna on a tower on the air from a transmitter site on West 42nd Street, southeast of the Cumulus' Classic Hits/WJJK (104.5fm, Noblesville) tower.
After just over two years as a sports reporter, Michael Grady will exit Scripps' ABC affiliate/WRTV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) along with his public address announcer role for the NBA's Indiana Pacers. Mr. Grady will become a Brooklyn Nets sideline reporter for YES, a regional cable network in the New York City area. Mr. Grady will continue co-hosting the "Grady and Big Joe Show" with Joe Staysniak on Emmis Communications' Sports/WFNI (1070am, Indianapolis), also heard on translator W298BB (107.5fm, Indianapolis).

September 17: In 1962, 88.9fm, Notre Dame signed on as WSND-FM, and still is.
September 18: In 2001, David Hicks dies. Age 62. Mr. Hicks was CEO of Hicks Broadcasting, which owned three Michigan radio stations (WKMI, WKFR, WRKR) and WRBR-FM (103.9fm, South Bend).
September 19: In 1988, 104.3fm, Casey, Illinois signed on as WCBH-FM, and still is. In 2011, WDND (1620am, South Bend) flips format from ESPN Radio to a simulcast of sister CHR WNDV (92.9fm, South Bend).
September 21: In 1995, then-WKQM (96.3fm, Churubusco) flipped formats from easy listening ("WKQM The Soft Sounds of the City") to alternative music, as "96.3 The Edge". Hear the sign-on, after the end of their stunt TV theme songs format. In 2000, 102.9fm in Edinburgh signed on as WYGB. It later moved to 100.3fm, but remained WYGB. In 2005, 95.9fm in Franklin flips format from Christian AC/WIJY ("Joy 96") to Oldies/WIAU as "Gold 95.9" (…What's the chemical symbol for gold? AU.) In 2009, WGBJ (102.3fm, Auburn) flipped formats at 6:00PM from Regional Mexican to CHR as "Power 102.3".
September 22: In 1947, 1060am in Benton Harbor, Michigan signs on as WHFB, and still is.
September 23: In 1967, Channel 35 in Madisonville, Kentucky signed on as WKMA-TV, and still is.

Radio Producer

Summary:
Seeking experienced radio producer for two live network broadcasts daily. The radio producer will be responsible for the technical production of Farm Journal Radio live broadcasts as well as production of custom audio for Farm Journal websites, clients and internal promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
* Daily technical production of 2 live radio shows
* Manage automation logs of 2 live radio shows
* Manage production of various recorded audio including show promos, market reports, custom audio for affiliates and clients, custom in-house audio, etc.
* Edit audio highlights from broadcasts to use on Farm Journal websites.
* Travel to produce live broadcasts from industry events
* Assist with booking guests
* Coordinate travel logistics
Education/Skills/Professional Experience:
These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
* 1 to 3 years of radio production experience
* Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism preferred
* Expertise with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or similar audio editing suite
* Strong written and communication skills
* Must have a strong attention to detail and decision making skills
* Must be able to meet deadlines
* Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry is a plus
