As a result of the recently ratified contract between the State of New York and the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) and an administrative extension of collectively bargained benefit changes to employees designated Management/Confidential (M/C), there will be NYSHIP rate changes effective July 1, 2023.
Due to these changes, there will be a Special Option Transfer Period which will run from June 1 through June 30, 2023. During this period, you may request changes that will affect your bi-weekly premium deduction, such as:
- Request to change from family to individual
- Cancel your coverage
- Change your plan to another NYSHIP option (excluding the Opt Out Incentive)
If you will be making any changes to your health plan, please complete the PS404 and return to hrs_benefits@stonybrook.edu. If you will not be making any changes, no action is needed.
