Happy Holidays!                                              2023

Happy Holidays
Dear friends,
As we bid farewell to 2023, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our friends, family, and well-wishers. Your unwavering support has enabled us to expand our international development projects.
Throughout the year, DRI-CIWAS implemented several in-person training sessions along with our WASH Sustainability projects in Ghana, Malawi, and Honduras. Our Circuit Rider program in Ghana has now expanded to support Healthcare Facilities in addition to supporting local communities.
Through our WASH Capacity Building Program, a total of 238 students from 32 countries have completed their Graduate Certificate in International WASH through the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). DRI-CIWAS also organized a new Groundwater Development and Management workshop that was held in Tanzania, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Africa Institution of Science and Technology. The workshop attracted 50 Hydrogeology and Engineering participants from 10 countries, including representatives from the Tanzanian Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Tea Research Institute of Tanzania, World Vision, and Habitat for Humanity.
DRI-CIWAS has maintained its focus on researching our technology for removing fluoride in the laboratory. Following the successful lab experiments, the fluoride removal project was successfully developed into an upscaled prototype with at least 85% reduction from high levels of fluoride concentration. A larger prototype is currently being developed to be field tested on high fluoride concentration wells in Beatty, NV.
We extend our warmest wishes and want to thank you for your financial support and collaborations with CIWAS. On behalf of everyone on the CIWAS team, our Ghana, Malawi, and Honduras teams, the University for Development Studies - Ghana, Uganda Christian University, our WASH Expert Instructors, and all our supporting DRI faculty and staff - best wishes to you and your families. We look forward to continued collaboration and success in the upcoming year.
Have a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year 2024!
