Dear Parents:
Our vision is to prepare tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ. We can’t wait to start that journey with you, and look forward to meeting and working alongside your student in the coming school year.
Even though teachers are technically “off” in the summer months, our faculty team is still busy refining lesson plans and figuring out ways to engage and mentor your student.
What can you do to get ready for Valor?
The first priority is to enjoy both the respite and opportunities that may come your way this summer. The second is to stay organized and aware of important events and resources, so that the first few weeks of school are seamless and fun.
To assist you with this, we have highlighted several important announcements below. Please take a moment to click on these resources and, if needed, proceed to appropriate contacts who can provide further information or assistance. Jump Start with Summer School

If you are interested in giving your student additional support as they prepare for their transition to Valor, you may enroll in summer classes or tutoring for incoming freshmen or transfers. The tutoring center is available Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm (except the week of July 4th). Contact Will Ostransky with questions.

Purchase Textbooks

The MBS Bookstore will go live on Monday, July 9. Families will receive free shipping on all purchases made from July 9 through July 16. Please refer to the course listing that was mailed to you earlier this month when making book selections. If you did not receive your course listing, you may reach out to Sheila Beckie, Lead Academic and College Counselor, for assistance. If you have any questions regarding book orders, you may contact Pam Stingley, Academic Coordinator.
Please note that we ask students to refrain from purchasing math textbooks until they have received direct instructions from their math teacher during the first week of school. We recommend purchasing the eBook through WebAssign, as the cost saving is significant and students can avoid carrying a physical book at school.

Applied STEM Program

The Institute for Applied STEM is an endorsement program that prepares students to make a global impact in the fields of science, math, engineering, medicine and technology. Whether your student is interested in a STEM major or minor, or would just like to explore a fun class or club, you can learn more and register online

Back to School

Save these dates! These events will help you get connected with other families, and set up your student with everything they need to start school.
Meanwhile, stay tuned for more information later this summer. We'll make sure you have everything you need for a successful Back-To-School.

Thanks for taking the time to read this Academics update. We'll see you again next Thursday for a special message about Parent Community!
