Telling Your Hospital's Story: Getting the Word Out About Good Quality
HospitalCompare, the website developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide a snapshot of the quality performance of community hospitals, will celebrate its 10th anniversary later this spring. Based on self-reported hospital data collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the site was and remains the cornerstone for insights into how well hospitals care for patients, meet certain quality expectations and provide safe and clinically sound environments for care. Unfortunately for consumers, HospitalCare began as a clunky, hard-to-understand databank with a fairly sterile and unfriendly graphic interface. Read more.
Optimize Twitter Performance with New Tweet Activity Dashboard

While I had a few days off, I stumbled upon a nifty new Twitter analytic tool. After receiving a few favorites on one particular tweet, I clicked on the tweet so I could see who "favorited" it. In doing so, I noticed words I had not seen before: "VIEW TWEET ACTIVITY." This new feature allowed me to see the total impressions and engagements and view highlights of how many people clicked on a photo, clicked on a link, expanded the tweet or viewed my profile picture. Super Bowl Media Day: A Good Opportunity Gone Bad
Arguably the biggest "press availability" of the year is the annual Super Bowl Media Day. What is Media Day? Well, at its roots and best, it should give media from across the country and beyond a chance they certainly would not otherwise get - to interview the player from their hometown. To bring a "Nashville" or a "Des Moines" perspective to the readers, listeners and viewers back home. Today, however, Media Day has become quite a circus.
