VP FOR ACADEMIC LIFE LETTER

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Friends of De La Salle,

Now that the academic year is officially over, the sounds I hear outside of my office windows, which face the quad, have changed dramatically. I still hear on a daily basis the exciting, if not loud, construction progress of the Ladouceur Athletic Performance Center. Instead of the sounds of the thundering running of a 1,050 young men to the Hofmann Center every break and lunch to be the first in line, I hear the summer athletic camps in progress (I am pretty sure I hear Mr. Pelosi coaching the basketball camp as I write this). The changing of the sounds are a daily reminder of the ebb and flow of school life. It is hard to believe that the 2018-2019 academic year has come to an end, and a few weeks ago, we graduated the class of 2019 and promoted to the next level our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. (If you missed the 2019 graduation ceremony, please click here.)

LADOUCEUR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE CENTER

As we move closer and closer to completing funding for the new Ladouceur Athletic Performance Center, now under a million dollars to go to reach our goal of $5.75 million, it is exciting to see the construction progress of the facility.
Over the next few months, we will start to see significant movement as the LAPC takes shape. Check back often to the Perfect Effort webpage, as we will continue to post images of the construction process.

As we wrap up the fundraising for the facility, there are a few significant naming opportunities still available. In addition, we have launched our “Hall of Fame Tile Program”, which is a great way to leave a permanent legacy on our campus. We will be offering a limited number of recognition tiles that will forever be displayed in the Hall of Fame Lobby between the Gym and the LAPC.
For more information please contact Mark Chiarucci at chiaruccim@dlshs.org or 925-288-8106. Thank you to all those who have been so generous to get us to this point and for the impact you will have on thousands of Spartans for years to come.
