See that vehicle? That could be what happens when you take your eyes off the road to check your phone, even for just a moment.
April is recognized as National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and the City of Huntsville and Huntsville Police Department want to encourage residents to take action and avoid the distraction.
The issue hits close to home for Council Member Little, who was seriously injured in a distracted driving-related car accident with his family in 2008.
Throughout the month, the City will provide helpful tips and information on how to avoid distracted driving and end the crisis on our roadways. For updates, follow the City of Huntsville on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

Honoring Officers Crumby, Morin
A funeral was held Monday, April 3, for fallen Huntsville Police Officer Garrett Crumby, who died last week in the line of duty. Services were hosted at Mayfair Church of Christ, followed by a long procession to Tuscaloosa Memorial Park where Crumby was buried.
The latest update on Officer Morin shows him still in recovery, but off a ventilator and talking to his fellow officers.
We continue to send thoughts and prayers to the families of these brave officers.
