A dozen RVR residents ventured up to Grand Mesa to enjoy some good snow and cross country skiing. "It was the earliest ski we’ve had in years!" said Yvonne Perry who submitted the picture. Thank you Yvonne for sharing!

In the holiday spirit of thankfulness and celebration, let's all be thankful for the sustainable initiatives we made this year. For some, they were big - a new electric vehicle, solar panels, or signing up for commercial composting. Then there were the medium sized accomplishments like purchasing electric lawn tools or starting to replace your turf lawn with native grasses. But even the smallest act matters. Things like buying reusable food storage bags instead of disposable ones, having a reusable water bottle instead of a single use plastic one, and buying eco friendly gift bags and wrapping paper. Thank you for caring about the environment and be proud of what you have achieved. Let's continue on this mission. As this year ends, make a resolution to continue your sustainable journey and do even more next year!

A note below from Michael Korber, RVR Ski Club Ambassador:
"The recent snow we have had at Snowmass has made skiing so good that the mountain opened a week early. Pictured above is the Snowmass Snow stake on November 28. What I am suggesting for starting the club on snow meetings, is that we let the holidays pass and give the mountain time to get things fully organized and the crowds to lighten. So, subject to weather and snow conditions, let’s plan to celebrate the new year by starting the club on Wednesday, Jan. 8th. Like last year we will meet at 10 a.m. at the Ullrhof. I will keep everyone posted and would appreciate it if you would let me know if you will be there on the eighth. Depending on how many of us are coming and how many groomers, bump, blue groomed and black groomed and ungroomed folks we have, we might take a little longer organizing that morning too. Looking forward to hearing from you all and enjoy the holidays with your family".
Please contact Mike if you’d like to join the RVR Ski Club at mbkorber@gmail.com or (401) 439-9132.

The Carbondale USPS team is currently understaffed. When visiting the RVR mailroom homeowners may find parcels placed on top of the center island or above mail boxes. We implore homeowners to collect their mail regularly. Packages will be sent back to the post office if they haven't been collected for 10 days or longer.
|
|
|
Homeowners can practice good postal etiquette with the following tips:
|
-
There is limited space in each mail box and with the holidays upon us, many residents will be receiving catalogs, packages and other bulk mail. If your box is full, the post office may have to return your mail to the sender.
- If you are heading out of town, you should put your mail delivery on hold. You can do so on the USPS website by clicking here.
- Sign up for informed delivery by USPS. This allows you to see photos of your mail prior to its arrival for free! Click here for more information.

Tom's Door Holiday Giving Program |
|
|
Tom's Door in partnership with RVR is celebrating our ninth annual holiday gift drive for Carbondale Seniors. Over the last eight years, we have experienced a generous outpouring of contributions. The RVR community has a chance this holiday season to provide gift cards to all the 79 residents of Carbondale Senior Housing who otherwise might not have a Christmas. These residents are 62 years of age or older, live in Crystal Meadows housing on social security and have an income level of less than $34,000 a year. You can give them some hope and cheer and share the magic of the holiday season.
If you wish to get involved, visit the RVR Ranch House beginning Saturday, Nov. 2 and choose a key from the wreath on the festive red Tom's Christmas Door. There are several gift card options including City Market, Target and Walmart. Our suggested donation is $50. We ask that you return the gift card/s into the door's mail slot no later than Sunday, Dec. 8. Please feel free to include a personal note if you wish to share a holiday message.
Additional information about Tom's Door is available next to the red door if you are not familiar with this wonderful organization and the outreach and positive impact it has in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Sidney Poncelet at 970-309-2393 or sidponcelet@gmail.com.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
