Dear Campus Community:
The Graduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15, at 6 p.m., will be held on the Old Main Quad, rather than at the Athletic & Wellness Center as originally planned.
We are making this change due to strong and increased interest in attendance among graduating students and their guests, and indoor capacity limits in the AWC.
By moving the Friday event outside, we can safely and comfortably accommodate up to seven guests for each graduate, providing the best possible experience for our Hawks and their friends and families.
As part of this change, the Friday Graduate Commencement Ceremony will have open seating, meaning no tickets will be required for guests.
Additionally, our shift to summer core business hours (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) will begin on May 15, one day earlier than previously announced, to reduce traffic and parking congestion as students and guests begin to arrive for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony Friday evening.
There will be no changes to the format of the Saturday and Sunday Undergraduate Ceremonies, which will be held on the Old Main Quad beginning at 10 a.m. on May 16 & 17, respectively.
Tickets will still be required for guest access to the Saturday and Sunday Ceremonies. Undergraduate students who still need to get tickets for their guests can find instructions at this link. Participating students may reserve up to seven guest tickets for the Saturday and Sunday Ceremonies.
