The Cypress College campus has come back to life with the start of the Fall 2017 semester! We're happy to see so many students excited to begin and continue their studies at the college, and urge all to take advantage of the many resources and services here to help you a successful semester.

Your One-Stop Guide to Getting Through These First Few Weeks of Class
Starting a new semester can be nerve-wracking, even for a seasoned veteran, so be sure to check out our Fall 17 Semester Central page dedicated to providing a quick guide to new and returning students alike.

RESOURCES

Our next-generation Cypress College website is now live. In this first-phase release, we believe you’ll see a site that is strongly student- and potential-student-focused. This first phase of the re-design has been developed completely in house. User feedback will be used to shape the next phases of the site.

New features on the website include a searchable staff directory, a robust calendar of campus events, and simplified navigational options. The site also features stories chronicling the success of our students and alumni.

Once you visit the new site, please be sure to visit the feedback survey to share your thoughts. The new Cypress College website is unrelated to the recent myGateway upgrade (more on that below). Since this is just a starting point, the site will continue to expand and evolve this semester while the full old site remains available to those who prefer it.

Thanks are in order for our in-house development team from Academic Computing — primarily Mike Land and George Isaac — and the efforts and leadership of Cari Jorgensen in the Office of Campus Communications.

DISTRICT

This summer, the North Orange County Community College District launched the updated and modernized myGateway platform for all students, faculty, and staff at Cypress College, Fullerton College, and North Orange Continuing Education (formerly the School of Continuing Education).

A number of myGateway users have reported login and other issues. If you are experiencing problems, including login or PIN resets, contact the District Information Services Helpdesk at  ishelpdesk@nocccd.edu or (714) 808-4849. For quick help, please refer to the District-provided guide below.

Pro-tip: When searching for classes, be sure to search only "Cypress College." Also, please check that the classes you're signing up for have a "C" denoting Cypress next to them.

GOVERNANCE

Change, celebrating student success, and examining the ways in which the college and district can further support and facilitate student success, were the major themes of new Cypress College President Dr. JoAnna Schiling’s first Opening Day Friday, August 25.
