Can you share more about your student involvement while at Denison?
While at Denison, I was a member of Delta Gamma. I also started a ski club with a few others!
Please share the ways you have volunteered for Denison since your graduation.
I am a Denison Everywhere host for our local event, and I’m currently helping get our class ready for our 30th Class Reunion this June! I am participating in a Women in Philanthropy group and have also set up a Denison table at a local college fair to help recruit future Denisonians.
What has been most rewarding about your experience volunteering for Denison?
Sharing in the amazing connections that happen post-graduation. I think Denison is a great place for students today. I’m thrilled with the way Denison has nurtured our daughter (Class of 2024). Her opportunities and experiences have been incredible, and I want that for all students.
What would you tell someone who is considering volunteering for Denison?
I have made some wonderful friends through my time volunteering. There is a Denison alumna in our town (of only 3,000 people!) who is eight years younger than me. We met at a Denison event and have been friends ever since. I find that the Denison connection often leads to friendship, even with people I did not know when I was there. Through volunteering, I hope to stay engaged with Denison as a parent and an alum and to encourage other students to attend and take advantage of all that Denison offers.
What is your favorite Denison memory?
My favorite thing about Denison is the connection. The first winter after I graduated, I was living in Vail, Colo. I was in the outermost spot on Vail mountain, with only one other person in sight. It turns out this person was someone I went to Denison with! I have more friends from Denison than at any other time in my life, and many of them I did not know (or know well) while at school. The bond keeps growing, and the value of Denison lasts way beyond my four years on The Hill.
