Bring the Family!

Halloween Festivities at LCC...

  • Families are welcome to Trick or Treat!  Visit the Trunk or Treat cars outdoors and then come inside where residents are looking forward to giving out treats.  A small not-so-haunted house and a fun DJ await your arrival.
  • Decorate your own Trunk or Treat car with a Halloween theme and provide treats to giveway. Register with Donna King.
  • As a gesture of goodwill, members of the Poughkeepsie Police Department will be donating candy and joining us for the event!

Veteran's Day Celebration
November 11th

The Dutchess County Veterans Association who  will be honoring veterans living at LCC. Wreaths have been made for a wreath laying ceremony and a special video message from a local elementary school will be viewed.
We look forward to welcoming New York State Senator Michelle Hinchy (the 41st district) who will address the community. Members of The Arlington Fire Department will also be in attendance.

Redefining Safety at LCC

As always, the Lutheran Care Center strives to protect our residents’ safety and dignity.  Medical research suggests various restraints, including side rails, may be unsafe and pose a risk to some SNF residents.  As such, we are in the process of reviewing each resident’s current status and replacing many of our bed side rails with less restrictive alternatives.  Side rails may still be used in specific situations after our interdisciplinary team determines they are necessary to treat a resident’s medical symptoms.
Our ultimate goal is to promote all LCC’s residents’ autonomy and quality of life by using safer alternatives to reduce the risks associated with bed rails.
For more information on side rails view the presentation by our Medical Director.

Adopt-a-Resident Christmas Gifts

Please help enrich the Christmas experience for our residents.  Become a Christmas Angel.  You'll be assigned one resident and given suggestions for a simple gift bag...items the resident has mentioned he or she would enjoy.
Gifts will be presented to each resident during their festive holiday season party on Tuesday, December 23rd.
It's not too early to request your paper Christmas Tree with recipient details. Contact Donna King:  dking@tlcn.org
