Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

In May 2025, the bishops of the United Methodist Church released a vision statement designed to help the church live into the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world:

The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.

They built this statement around the themes of loving, serving, and leading. The invitation comes, however, not simply through the words, but in the way they are described. We are not just called to love, but to love boldly. We don’t just hear a call to serve, but to serve joyfully. And we aren’t seeking those who will just lead, but those who will lead courageously. The adverbs add a spark to the statement.  For the next three weeks in worship, we join other United Methodists around the globe reflecting on what it means to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.  The hope is that with some reflection and attention, we can be inspired to embrace an adverbial faith.

Sunday, April 19: Love Boldly; Scripture: Mark 12:28-34, Lev. 19:9-18, John 13:34-35
Sunday, April 26: Serve Joyfully; Scripture: Psalm 100, 1 Peter 4:8-11
Sunday, May 3: Lead Courageously (fitting for our Baccalaureate Sunday!) Scripture: Joshua 1:5-9, Ephesians 6:10-18
Thank you, thank you, thank you church for all the ways you are present to and for our youth. We had a great time Sunday sharing table at our annual Youth Cookout Fundraiser. After subtracting costs for the burgers, we raised $1,713.01!  Your gifts make a difference throughout the year for the mission and ministry of our youth program. Not only did we have a great fellowship lunch Sunday, but another big thank you to our Sunday Morning Small Groups, our choir, our youth families, and individual church members who have sponsored our youth Sunday evening meals throughout the year. Thank you to Shawn Flowers and Matthew Kirk who have been taking the lead Sunday mornings during Sunday School while we continue the search for a new youth director. Thank you to Branden and Renee Henry and Matthew and Molly Kirk for hosting youth nights at their home. Thank you to Bech Evans for sharing your gift of art with our youth, and thank you to Jessica Snyder and Maggie King for showing up to volunteer whenever needed. Thank you to all our youth parents who have helped plan and implement various aspects of our youth program this year. I know there are names I have missed, but please know your help and love of our youth is appreciated and noticed. We do best the things we do together!

What a beautiful day for Worship!
It is almost time again to celebrate our graduates!  Please join us Sunday, May 3 for Baccalaureate Sunday as we recognize our high school and college graduates at our 10:45 service. Parents of high school graduates, if you didn't receive an email from the church office with needed info to plan for this day, please let Linda know, and make plans to join our youth for a Baccalaureate Brunch in the youth room at 9:30 that morning. Parents of college graduates, please let the church office know if your child will be finishing up so we can be sure to include them in the big day. Church family, stop by the youth room during the Sunday School hour (9:30 to 10:30) to wish our high school graduates well. If you would like to aid with food for our brunch, click here.  We do best the things we do together!

Miracle Sunday is a global, connectional effort to create an endowment for theological education outside the US in Africa, Europe, and the Philippines with the goal of endowing 500 scholarships in perpetuity ensuring that courageous, well-prepared leaders can serve in some of the most challenging missional communities around the world.
Did you know that fewer than 5% of pastors outside the US hold a master’s degree in theology, compared to more than 71% within the US? Or that the US has 13 United Methodist approved seminaries while outside the US, there are 20. Further, the US has 1.2 billion dollars already in endowments and Ministerial Education Funds within these US seminaries. This is a gap we must and can address. Churches participating in Miracle Sunday will provide the funds to educate, equip, and empower pastors, create peace builders around the globe, raise up leaders who will do kingdom work in the midst of world wide politics. This is a sharing of resources to support those called, support the growth of the Christian church, and develop leaders together because no one person can do it alone. Thank you for giving generously.
