The Radford Chamber of Commerce will host Business Over Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 8-9 a.m. at The HUB at Radford University, 1000 E. Main St. in Radford. All Radford University employees are invited to participate, and attendance is free of charge.

Election Day holiday hours |

Tuesday, Nov. 4, is designated as a four-hour holiday to provide employees time to vote in the 2025 election.
The university will remain open for Election Day. Employees are expected to communicate with their supervisors and receive approval if they plan to utilize the four hours of holiday time or work through the holiday. Keying instructions for completing timesheets will be provided during the upcoming pay period time submission dates.

Deadline approaching for all full-time employees to take the Annual State Mandatory Training |
|
|
All full-time Virginia state employees must complete the 2025 Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) State Employee Safety and Disaster Awareness training by Monday, Nov. 17, in compliance with Executive Order 41 and Code of Virginia § 2.2-1212.
Only those employees who have taken the training since Aug. 1, 2025, are exempt from retaking this training this year. If you completed this training prior to Aug. 1, you must retake it as a VDEM requirement. There is no button to mark the training complete. Simply “X” out of the training, and it should capture completion. Double-check your transcript, and if it does not indicate 'completed' on your transcript, please email training@radford.edu.

The Radford University Office of Undergraduate Research (OURS) is inviting all students to showcase their research, scholarly or creative work at the 7th Annual Winter Creative Activities and Research Days (CARD) on Wednesday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 4. Oral presentations will be on Wednesday, and poster presentations will be on Thursday. Group presentations are welcome.

To streamline processes, Radford University Office of Accounting Services notifications regarding SPCC reconciliation issues will now be communicated to cardholders and their supervisors on the Kuali SPCC Action Request/Information form. This process will allow the accounting team to collect reportable data, automate workflows for tasks and notifications and make it easier to manage, track and update requests.
A short video on this process for SPCC cardholders and their supervisors can be found on the training catalog for the controller’s office in D2L through OneCampus. You must enroll for the controller’s office training in D2L to access the video.

To attend a session, email travel@radford.edu with the subject line “Training.” In the body of the email, indicate if you would like to attend the Emburse (Chrome River) travel training session or the food and beverage policy training. You may also indicate in the email that you would like to attend both sessions.
Each Zoom session is limited to 20 participants. Once your email request is approved, you will receive a link to attend the requested session.

International Education Week is Nov. 17-20, and it celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
Radford University’s McGlothlin Center for Global Education and Engagement invites proposals for events and workshops from students and employees interested in celebrating International Education Week this November.
The center welcomes submissions for a variety of events, including cultural performances, global art exhibitions, guest speakers and global trivia nights.
