This month, we are excited to welcome Austin Brown from the counseling center. He will introduce mental health resources specifically designed for graduate students, including Grad ROOTS - a group therapy program that helps students connect with peers, manage stress, find balance, and navigate the unique challenges of graduate school.

You'll also have the opportunity to connect with Zia, Chair of the Advocacy Committee. This GSA committee is dedicated to advancing policy improvements and enhancing benefits for graduate students. Additionally, it hosts the annual Dialogue with Baylor Leaders Dinner, which brings together students, faculty, and administrators for meaningful discussions.

🐻 BEAR Grants: Funding for Graduate Student Events |
Planning a graduate student event this academic year? The GSA/Graduate School BEAR Grants provide supplementary funding for departmental-level events that support graduate student recruitment, collegiality, scholarship, and community.
💰 Up to $150 in funding, with at least $150 in matching funds from the host department.
⭐ Apply early! We give preference to groups that submit applications within the first 6 weeks of the semester. Also submit applications at least 4 weeks before your event.

The Baylor University Counseling Center (BUCC) has a number of resources for students.

Baylor Telehealth Services – Students can access virtual counseling and health support at no cost.
Mental Health Ally Initiative – Become a trained ally and help create a culture of support at Baylor.
Request an Outreach – Invite BUCC staff to present workshops or trainings for your department or group.

Join us for the semester kickoff and tacos on Saturday, August 29th at 6:00 PM in the Community Room of the Quadrangle Apartment Complex.
