We at PHUMC are ministry partners with East Flora Elementary School and this school garden is part of that important ministry. Contact Pastor Haven for more information.
The last two years, we offered space to watch the Sunday evening speaker at the Renew conference. We listened to Nadia Bolz-Weber and Kate Bowler and this year, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the theme for Renew 2024 is renewing a love of scripture.  How did they know Parkway Hills would be walking through a year long emphasis on the wisdom of scripture? You are invited to join us Sunday, April 21 at 6:45 pm in the worship center for a watch party for this year's conference.  Sunday evening will offer a panel of a diverse collection of voices that will invite you to wrestle and reimagine your relationship with scripture.  The speakers the past two years have indeed been renewing so I hope you will join us for this year's watch party.  Bring a snack to share!  Drinks will be provided.  For more info on the Renew 2024 conference, click here.
General Conference, the official voice of the United Methodist Church, will be held April 23-May 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a worldwide gathering of United Methodists who have been elected to come together for worship, prayer, fellowship, and to handle the business of the church. Due to Covid, General Conference has not convened since 2016.  Pastor Dawn will be available after worship, Sunday, April 21 to answer questions you may have about General Conference and to be in conversation about what we might expect.

Children's Sunday School begins in the Garden at 9:30 am. Ages 3 years old - 4th grade welcome.  We will focus on the importance of sharing in our Bibles stories this unit as we learn more about the Great Commission and stories from the Book of Acts. We will need PreK and Kindergarten teachers this Sunday. To *volunteer click this link.olunteer* click this link.
Children 2nd-4th grade are invited to attend acolyte training on April 28. We will meet in the Garden at 9:30 a.m. and walk over to the worship center together for training. Serving as an acolyte is a great opportunity for our children to lead and assist in worship. If you're interested or have any questions contact Haven.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.

The Sunday Fund is a benevolence fund created to meet the financial burdens of elders who live on a Methodist Senior Services campus across Mississippi.
