The Chicago Park District Night Out In the Parks presents Sones de México Ensemble's
Fiesta Mexicana Interactive Family Concerts

Based on our Parents Choice Award-winning album of the same name, Fiesta Mexicana will entertain kids and their parents in six Chicago parks with songs, storytelling and interactive games that are delivered in English and Spanish. All shows begin at 6:30pm. Come at 6pm and participate in a free mask-making workshop!

Corridos of the Semiquincentennial:
Voices of Courage and Hope
Juan Díes, co-founder of Sones de Mexico Ensemble, leads this historical revue of "corridos," a tradition of Mexican tragic ballads and heroic tales spanning 1840s to the present. This series, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts' America 250 celebrations, includes eight new compositions based on eight American folk heroes. All shows are in English and Spanish with English translations. Check calendar for exact location and times.

Join our students and faculty when they celebrate the end of the semester with a public recital and potluck! Come and find out if our classes are right for you or your children. Spanish-language guitar and violin classes available two-sessions per year in Chicago's Pilsen/Little Village and Rogers Park/Edgewater neighborhoods and online everywhere via Zoom. Tuition-based, scholarships available.

Día de Muertos with the South Bend Symphony
Sones de México Ensemble joins the South Bend Symphony Orchestra Symphony live on stage at their annual Day of the Dead extravaganza. The concert is free but requires reservations. Go to our calendar for details.

National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship Award Ceremony
Our co-founders, Juan Díes and Victor Pichardo, and seven other folk artists from across the U.S. will be inducted as "fellows" for this prestigious lifetime achievement recognition, the highest award for folk and traditional arts in the United States. The ceremony will also stream online.
