Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School has received a $12 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Marion County K-12 Private Schools Initiative. This is one of 34 large-scale implementation grants being awarded through phase 3 of the initiative, which is designed to help strengthen the academic achievement of students in Indianapolis and improve their prospects for success after high school.

With this grant, the largest in school history, Brebeuf Jesuit will launch an Arts and Innovation Initiative designed to enhance student learning, foster creativity, improve mental health, and drive academic success. Honor your loved ones, mentor, or classmates by dedicating a brick paver along the Bravewalk. Your brick on the Bravewalk will serve as a permanent reminder to all Braves of the cherished community that lives out the mission of being men and women for others.

Pavers are available for engraving in two sizes for a donation of $150 or $300 and make the perfect stocking stuffer or meaningful gift. All proceeds benefit The Brebeuf Fund, which provides Brebeuf Jesuit faculty and staff the necessary resources to put the mission into action.

Brebeuf Jesuit Basketball Players and Cheerleaders are invited back to the Prep for a pre-game gathering before the doubleheader against Bishop Chatard on Friday, January 30.

The pre-game will start at 5:00 p.m. followed by the girls’ game at 6:00 p.m. and boys’ game at 8:00 p.m. More information will be released in early January.

Lynnette Smith ’24, studying at Hampton University, was part of the second-place team at the 7th Annual Moguls in the Making Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition, where 50 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) developed innovative and impactful solutions to address economic mobility challenges in Detroit. Lynnette’s team idea, FuelU, addresses food insecurity through meal plans at community college campuses across the city of Detroit. FuelU lockers are temperature controlled and provide healthy, fresh, ready to go meals directly to students with AI powered technology.
