The Monsters We Defy by Leslye Penelope
"This mesmerizing combination of historical fiction and folk magic uses seamless world-building to tell the story of Clara Johnson, a heroine who must navigate dangers both supernatural and social in the Washington, D.C. of 1925. A great read for fans of Gloria Naylor."--Meredith, Main Library
Absolutely lovely comment from a senior patron on the phone, only slightly paraphrased: "I have been in Boulder and using the library for more than forty years...I'm so proud of our library and what we've been able to do. The Meadows branch is so lovely."
