Housing Selection for First Year Students
Sophomore year is on the horizon and plans for next year are underway. Current first year students (rising sophomores) who applied for housing will make their selections for the 2024-25 academic year March 18-25 using Villanova's housing portal. Last week, Residence Life emailed students with a specific selection time, along with detailed, step-by-step instructions for selecting housing. Much like course registration, housing selection is dependent on availability. If a student is unable to secure housing in one of their preferred locations, they can join a wait list as part of the selection process. If your Wildcat has questions, please encourage them to contact Residence Life at residencelife@villanova.edu or call 610-519-4154.

Save the Date: Family Webinar |
Families are invited to join us Wednesday, April 10 for a webinar hosted by Nathalie Edmond, PsyD, Director of Villanova's Patricia B. and Gary M. Holloway University Counseling Center. Dr. Edmond will speak on "Resilience for All of Us" and will explore strategies that can be supportive for parents, caregivers and young adults during the transition to college. Look for a Zoom link to be shared via Instagram and on our Parent and Family webpage as the webinar approaches.

Course registration for rising sophomores will be held Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11. In order to register for Fall 2024 courses, Villanovans must review their selections and receive approval from their advisor prior to their registration timeslot. Encourage your Wildcat to be proactive in making these appointments; talk through their goals, discuss their plans for sophomore year and ask questions that will help them plan their academic path. More regarding the registration process can be found on the Registrar's page.

Tutoring Services at Villanova |
Most likely, your Wildcat will make use of our tutoring services at some point while at Villanova. Whether they need help through a challenging course, or they simply want to improve upon their understanding of a class they already excel in, we encourage them to seek out these services, which are free to Villanova students. Your student is easily able to review tutoring services and schedule an appointment using the online system.
Is your Wildcat interested in becoming a tutor within the Math Center, Learners' Studio, CASA or Student Athlete tutoring? There are opportunities for them! Students can learn more about the process on the Tutoring Services webpage.

Learning the Lingo: Nova Nook, GRM and Villanova on the Hill |
Villanova students, faculty, staff and alumni use phrases, acronyms and other terms in communication and during events. We thought you might want to get in the loop, too!
"Nova Nook" is a service at Villanova that provides necessities to students in need in a safe and discreet manner. The Nook, located on the second floor of Dougherty Hall, inventories toiletries, non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and other necessities. Through a simple process, students in need of items may order online and pick up the items at their convenience. To learn more about the Nook, please visit their page for further information.

"GRMs" (Graduate Resident Ministers) live within first year and sophomore residence halls and develop opportunities for undergraduate students to grow holistically through participation in liturgy, service, social justice work, retreats and shared reflection.
"Villanova on the Hill" is an immersive student experience during Fall break that allows students to explore all aspects of the policy making and the political ecosystem of Washington, DC. While in DC, students network and learn beside alumni and others from various backgrounds and professions. Applications for Fall 2024 are open through Monday, April 1.
Curious about something you heard? Email us at parents@villanova.edu and maybe we can help you!

March is National Nutrition Month and in the spirit of the season, the Office of Health Promotion's registered dietician, Jessica Pellicciotta, will host events focused on healthy and conscious eating on campus. If your Wildcat is interested, or would benefit from this opportunity, encourage them to visit Health Promotion's event calendar to read more about these helpful events.

In preparation for the construction of the new Falvey Library at Vic Maggitti Hall, Kennedy Hall must come down in the spring, and many other projects must fall into place. This includes transplanting the beautiful trees and bushes planted around the building. The Villanova Grounds crew is hard at work transplanting these beauties elsewhere on campus.
Villanova has been designated a Tree USA School, dedicated to the preservation and management of our unique variety of campus trees and engagement with the Villanova community through recurring tours. Next time you're on campus, enjoy a self-guided tree tour or look for opportunities to join us for a tour with our horticulture manager during a University event.
