Additional groups for children and parents
Increased therapy services & expanded hours
Trauma-informed trainings for Head Start and Marble Falls ISD teachers
Expanded services for Head Start children to include individual play therapy at school

EXPANDED THERAPY SERVICES

Due to increased demand, we will expand our therapy services this fall, allowing us to serve children who are on our waiting list. 74 children are currently on our waiting list.

Additionally, thanks to grant funding, we are excited to announce that Phoenix Center will create a fully equipped play therapy room on the Marble Falls Head Start school campus.

Phoenix Center will provide school-based play therapy services, one day a week, for Head Start students in need of mental health care. This early intervention program will serve 3 year-old children & their parents/guardians.

Our Head Start Yoga Storytime, Relaxation & Coping Skills program will continue for a 2nd year on the same Head Start campus. We are delighted to expand our early intervention programs!

TRAUMA-INFORMED TRAININGS

We are committed to providing trauma-informed trainings & education in our community to best support children & families who have experienced trauma.

Phoenix Center, in collaboration with Natural Lifemanship, provided an all day Trauma-Informed training for Marble Falls ISD teachers on August 5, 2016.

Additionally, we will provide a Trauma-Informed training for approximately 100 teachers from all Head Start centers in Burnet and Williamson counties. This training will include the Impact of Trauma on Child Development, Managing Challenging Behaviors, and Incorporating Yoga & Relaxation into the Early Childhood Classroom.
