Seykora Wins Women's Nail Driving Contest

Newest member of the Chamber team, Julia Seykora, won the Chamber competition at the Fair-5 nails, :53 sec.  

Meier Total Disaster in Cow Milking Contest


Of the 23 contestants in the Bella the Cow Milking contest at the fair, Chamber president Brad Meier came in 22nd place milking 9 oz.  The repeat winner of the contest was Chris Kruse from Garlicks Water milking 46 oz in 30 seconds!

300 Block N.Cedar-Stores Open Construction Moving South

The businesses on the 300 block of N. Cedar have had a long construction summer.  Their doors are still open and your support is crucial.  It's looking like a couple more weeks and that road will be back.  
-Watermain and sewer service nstallation will continue along the 300 block
-Sanitary storm sewer installation will continue to progress south into the Pearl Street Intersection
-Additional removals within the 200 block are anticipated in approximately two weeks

Megan Horton

New Workforce Coordinator Hired for SteeleCoWorks

Welcome to Megan Horton who was selected as the next Workforce Coordinator for the SteeleCoWorks program.  Horton takes over for Anisha Zak who recently accepted a new position with non-profit Lead for Minnesota. 
For the past seven years, Megan has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota in Owatonna, most recently as the Community Outreach Director.  Megan has a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.   Outside of work she enjoys going on adventures with her family, cooking and traveling.

Explore Minnesota and Hospitality Minnesota are joining forces with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis to gather information that will help each organization better shape policies and programs that touch your business.
