Meet the newest member of our flock!
This tufted puffin chick made its debut on July 16, and our bird keepers report the “puffling” is doing well and growing steadily. It will be several weeks before the chick leaves the burrow; in the meantime, it will remain under the care of its doting parents.
Tufted puffin pairs work together to rear their young, taking turns sitting with the chick and bringing fish back to the burrow. Tufted puffins often collect multiple fish at a time, crisscrossing them in their bill—an action known as “bill stacking.” See if you can spot this behavior during your next visit to our Seabird Aviary!

As a participant in the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation’s annual Birthday Grant celebration, we were assigned three glass floats, hidden along the beaches of Lincoln City; the Oregon Coast Aquarium receives a $1,000 donation per float, so long as they are found and registered by August 11.
We're thrilled to say that one of our floats has been found! That means there are two left to track down!
For what would have been Marie’s 129th birthday, the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation is working with Explore Lincoln City to donate $129,000 to nonprofits on the Oregon Coast – supporting adventure, exploration, and expeditions for local young people.

We're closer than ever before! Have you ordered yours?
By preordering today, you’re helping establish an ongoing form of support for wildlife rehab and animal care. As with any new license plate at the Oregon DMV, 3,000 vouchers must be sold to push the plates into production. With less than 500 preorders left, we're closer than ever!
