Oglebay Institute Presents The Nutcracker at Two Historic Wheeling Locations
Oglebay Institute's School of Dance will stage productions of the The Nutcracker at two historic Wheeling locations again this holiday season.
The Nutcracker Tea, performed at 1pm and 3pm December 2, 9 & 16 at the Mansion Museum in Oglebay Park, offers an intimate setting with each show including tea and photos with the cast. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. An opportunity to tour the Holidays at the Mansion decorating exhibit is included with the admission price. Beautifully costumed dancers bring the full Nutcracker ballet to Towngate Theatre 3pm & 7pm Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23. Tickets are $12.50 for adults and $10 for children ages 10 & under, and can be purchased online or by calling 304-242-7700.
Most performances sell out. Purchase tickets early so you are not disappointed.
Sugar Plum Social
Join the cast of The Nutcracker for a Sugar Plum Social prior to the matinee shows. Enjoy refreshments and get pictures with Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy 1-2pm December 22 & 23. $15 per child. (Purchase with your ticket.)

Miracle on 34th Street Delights All Ages at Towngate Theatre
Re-connect with a classic story and enjoy the magic of Christmas as Towngate Theatre presents Miracle on 34th Street. Performances take place 7pm Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7 and 8 and 3pm Sunday, December 2.
A talented ensemble of local actors, directed by John Reilly, tells the story of how Kris Kringle enchants children and adults, takes on cynics and unleashes waves of goodwill. The entire family can enjoy this funny, tender and charming show. Read more here.

Holiday Art Show & Sale Open at Two Locations
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of traditional retail shopping and shop local at OI's annual Holiday Art Show & Sale, open through December 29 at both the Stifel Fine Arts Center on National Road and the Schrader Environmental Education Center in Oglebay Park.
Handcrafted merchandise from dozens of vendors fill both locations. Items for sale include fine art, jewelry, pottery, paintings, photography, crafts and more in a variety of styles and price ranges. Click here for hours.

Annual Holiday Wine Tasting & Dinner is December 14 at Stifel
Celebrate the holidays in grand style 6:30pm Friday, December 14 with a wine tasting, dinner and holiday shopping at the Stifel Fine Arts Center.
One of the most popular events of the season, the annual holiday wine tasting and dinner is set in the elegant, yet intimate, splendor of one of Wheeling’s grand properties.

A Very Bridge & Tunnel Christams December 15 at Towngate
Join members of the Bridge & Tunnel Collective and some very special guests for a holiday revue for all ages 8pm Saturday, December 15 at Towngate Theatre.
Members of the Bridge & Tunnel Collective and other musical guests will perform their original takes on traditional holiday favorites in a variety of musical styles. Performers include Adrian Niles, Michael J. Iafrate and the Priesthood, Mr. Fancy Pants, Weird Lightning, Molly Ananga Manjari Martin, Matt Smith, Chad Burrall, The Pussyfooters, Zoe Buccella, Love & Data and Chelsy Keding.
Beer and wine will be for sale. Guests can also meet and mingle with the musicians during an after party immediately following the show.

OI Offering Single-Day Camps for Kids December 21 & 28
Busy parents are invited to take advantage of daytime holiday camps for children offered December 21 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center and December 28 the Schrader Environmental Education Center.
Holiday Art Camp
Holiday art camp takes place 9am to 3pm Friday, December 21 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Available for grades 1-8, children will create several holiday-themed projects.
Snow Creatures at the Schrader Center
Snow Creatures child care camp is offed Friday, December 28 with full and half-day options available beginning at 9am. Please dress for the weather as this camp goes outside.
