Dear AU Community,
As of Sunday, June 29, as part of the Better Bus initiative, all Metrobus routes have been updated, marking the first major overhaul to WMATA's bus network in over 50 years. These changes aim to modernize service across the region, provide more frequent service along major routes, and speed up service by removing roughly 5% of existing bus stops.
AU will no longer be serviced by the M4, N2, N4 and N6 Metrobus routes. Main Campus will now be served by the C81, D90, and D96 routes, with D90 connecting AU from the Tenleytown Metro Station to Downtown, the D96 connecting the Bethesda Metro to the White House via North Georgetown, and the C81 Route connecting Fort Totten Metro Station to Sibley Hospital.
Offices at 4401 Connecticut Avenue will be serviced by the D70 route, while Tenleytown will be serviced by the C51, C61, C85, C87, D80 and D82 routes.
Riders can utilize WMATA's bus map and trip planner to find their best new route to and from campus. Metrorail schedules will not be affected.
Visit TransitScreen for transit information, including bus wait times and Capital Bikeshare availability near campus and Tenleytown.
AU Shuttle stops and schedule will remain the same.
