Good afternoon Colleagues,

Throughout the year, the Human Resources Office has issued reminders to the campus advising that the annual leave (vacation) accrual cap, temporarily extended beyond the normal forty (40) day limit during the pandemic, will conclude effective December 31, 2023. Although we petitioned to extend the cap beyond the stated deadline to ensure that operations are not negatively impacted, we recently learned that the deadlines must stand. As such, vacation accruals in excess of the stated cap will revert to the pre-pandemic limits as follows:

M/C, UUP & RF EMPLOYEES
The excess cap expiration dates for Management/Confidential (M/C), UUP, and Research Foundation (RF) Employees is 12/31/23.

CSEA, PEF, PBANYS, & NYSCOPBA EMPLOYEES
Excess cap expiration dates for CSEA, PEF, PBA, and NYSCOPBA employees are subject to the terms of their respective contracts:

CSEA & PEF
Expiration Date -12/31/23 for accruals earned before 04/01/23
Expiration Date - 04/01/24 for accruals earned on or after 04/01/23

PBANYS & NYSCOPBA
Expiration Date - 12/31/23 for accruals earned before 09/30/23
Expiration Date - 09/30/24 for accruals earned on or after 10/01/23
