TCU Study Reveals Impact of American Airlines’ DFW Hub |
A new, independent analysis conducted by faculty and students in the Center for Supply Chain Innovation in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University has quantified the impact of American Airlines’ Dallas-Fort Worth hub on its North Texas home base. The study determined that American’s DFW hub and its directly associated passenger, tenant and cargo activity support an estimated $68.8 billion to $71.1 billion in annual economic output.

This summer, Reuben F. Burch V, vice provost for research, received his 50th patent. The accomplishment places him in distinct company and earns him the designation of “Prolific Inventor.” His 50th patent, earned while at TCU, is for patented technology that uses a swarm of drones to capture human performance in real-world environments, allowing Horned Frog researchers to study athletes of all kinds in their respective arenas. This technology will be utilized by TCU's Roach Institute for Athlete Engineering, which launched earlier this year.
