Juntos Awarded $7.8 Million Grant to Improve STEM Programming

NC State’s Juntos program has received a $7.8 million grant to improve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) participation, persistence and career readiness among Hispanic and Latino youth in the states of North Carolina and Washington. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) through the Youth Innovators Empowering Agriculture Across America program.

  • Student radio station WKNC and Visit Centennial Campus have partnered for WKNC’s Local Lunch Live, a weekly lunchtime performance showcasing NC State student musicians. WKNC is actively seeking solo and duo musicians for the event. The fall series takes place Wednesdays at noon from Oct. 11 to Nov. 15 at The Corner.
  • Submit public service announcements (PSAs) for your unit or department to WKNC. PSAs are accepted for both general informational announcements and one-time or short-run events.
  • TRIO Collegiate Programs invites campus partners to participate in presentations and Q&A sessions by candidates for the Assistant Director position with the TRIO Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. If you are able to attend the remaining presentations on Aug. 4 and 7, use this form to register.
  • Former Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Tom Stafford will conduct his 1,000th Bell Tour tour at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Join the tour to learn more about the Bell Tour’s history and to celebrate Dr. Stafford’s impressive occasion.
  • The Gregg Museum’s Mary Hauser is featured in the College of Design’s new series – Back to the Pack – about design alumni who work at NC State.
  • Christina Wytko Marchington, education and communications coordinator at the Gregg, and Katy Walls, studio technician and photography studio manager at the Crafts Center, are recipients of the Arts Service Above and Beyond Award.
