Student artists have risen to the challenge of the pandemic of 2020-2021 with outstanding original creations. Without the ability to have a public county-wide art show this year, the A.R.T.S. Committee, of our Cultural Enrichment programs, is excited to have been able to offer a $100 scholarship to one outstanding student artist, and $50 to a runner up, in each middle and high school in Newaygo County.
The winning students were selected by the individual schools, who choose to participate, for these honors. Students may use the scholarships for art supplies, to attend art classes, and other art-related expenses.
"While it was a disappointment for all of our students to not be able to showcase their artwork in a public setting, as a teacher I'm grateful for the opportunity to reward two of my students and help further their artistic endeavors," said Jill Kuebler, Grant High School art teacher and long-time A.R.T.S. Committee Member, adding “I sincerely appreciate all the years TrueNorth has supported the arts in Newaygo County.”
Our Cultural Enrichment programs operate on a very small and tight budget made up entirely of donations. If you would also like to support these programs, please donate at the link below.
