Distance Education Alumni Board
“Through the Alumni Association and the Alumni Board, you get that peer-to-peer interaction. The connection that we offer through events and newsletters and introducing people—I think that’s incredibly important. The connections that we make and that we facilitate are invaluable resources in both personal and professional roles in life.

AB scholarship winners announcement
Jill Bisco (BSAD, '15), Distance Alumni Board President
First winners of Distance Education Alumni Board Scholarship selected
This spring, the Alumni Board introduced a new scholarship that will award two $300 scholarships each year to distance education students. The scholarship is funded by UW-Platteville Alumni Association memberships.
"As the board is made up of distance education alums, it was important for us to give back to the program that allowed us to succeed," said Jill Bisco, Alumni Board President.
The first recipients of the award were Jayson Johnson (OCL) and Doug Nofsinger (BSAD). To read more about the scholarship, click here

Doug Nofsinger has been taking classes through the BSAD program off and on since 1993 whenever he had available time. Although he has already held several high-level positions at large companies, he still wants to complete his degree. Nofsinger is a Sourcing Manager at Colony Brands, Inc., in Monroe, Wisconsin. Read Doug's story here.

Jayson Johnson enrolled in the OCL program in the spring of 2014. He is a Professional Project Manager at John Deere in Moline, Iowa. For his capstone project, he worked at Gigi’s Down Syndrome Achievement Center, helping to find ways to effectively plan and implement change. Read more about Jayson here
Introducing the spring 2016 STEM scholars cohort
