Dear friends and colleagues,
As the Coronavirus pandemic lengthens, New Orleans' most vulnerable residents continue to bear the brunt of the disaster. The latest data on our neighborhoods shed light on the unique needs that existed before the pandemic—needs most likely magnified by the current crises. As grassroots emergency response efforts evolve into long-term relief projects, these neighborhood indicators help point to communities with the greatest challenges.
Today, The Data Center releases the most up-to-date data on neighborhood demographics, including age, housing affordability, and workers. These numbers reflect the last measurements the Census Bureau took before the start of the pandemic.
