| MVA Hosts Equity & Engagement Café
|
Long-awaited opportunities for in-person networking were celebrated after last month's Equity and Engagement Café, a collaborative effort of Meharry Medical College (MMC), Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), and the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance (MVA).
Featured panelists included Chelsei Granderson, MPH of Tennessee Department of Health; Dr. Aima Ahonkhai, MD, MPH of VUMC; and Dr. Stephania Miller-Hughes, PhD, MS, MCSI of Meharry Medical College. Community members, trainees, researchers, and clinicians gathered at the Tennessee State Museum to hear from our panelists as they discussed health equity work in their respective communities.
Moderator, Dr. Karen Winkfield, Executive Director of the MVA, challenged attendees “to embrace health equity in ways specific to your work that can drive each other to success.” If you couldn’t attend, visit our website to see more highlights and takeaways from the Equity and Engagement Café.
