As you get ready for spring weather and longer days, it's a great time to prep your home for the change in season. Spring maintenance will ensure that your property stays in prime condition all year long, so I'm sharing a few tips below.
ROOF & GUTTERS
After a rainy or snowy winter, it’s important to check your roof for missing or damaged shingles and flashing. Also, inspect your gutters for any debris and reattach them if they've started to sag.
EXTERIOR CONCRETE
Check your driveway, patio and walkways for signs of cracking, holes or other damage to the concrete. Fill small cracks with silicone caulk or concrete fillers.
WINDOWS & DOORS
With nicer weather ahead, now is an excellent time to wash your windows and sliding doors. As you do so, be sure to check your screens for tears or holes and replace them as necessary.
FAUCETS & SPRINKLERS
Run your outside faucets to check the water pressure and to make sure there are no leaks. Likewise, turn on any in-ground sprinklers to check for leaks and to be sure they're hitting the right areas.
EXTERIOR PAINT
Examine the outside of your home for cracked or peeling paint, and touch up as necessary. Spring and summer are the seasons to repaint your house if you’re ready to freshen things up.
LANDSCAPING & FOLIAGE
Be sure to trim any overgrown plants or weeds, especially those close to the house, roof or vents. You can also start cleaning up and preparing for spring planting.
