August is a time of new beginnings, and in that spirit, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to all those who graduated in this month’s ceremonies. You are our newest alumni, carrying forward the knowledge, skills and experiences to lead, inspire and make a lasting impact in the world. I also welcome students, faculty and staff to campus for a new academic year. Your fresh ideas and enthusiasm inspire us and remind us why the mission of this college continues to matter so deeply.

As we begin the 2025–26 academic year, we are celebrating five remarkable faculty members who have earned some of the nation’s most prestigious awards for early-career research. Their vision and hard work not only push the boundaries of knowledge but also create new opportunities for students to learn, grow and conduct research on the cutting edge.
As we recognize these faculty, we also celebrate many other successes across our college community. Students have been distinguishing themselves on and off campus, faculty members have advanced knowledge in vital fields such as bioengineering, advanced materials and cybersecurity, and industry collaborations have opened new doors for research and workforce development. Equally important, our dedicated staff provide the foundation that makes all this possible—supporting our teaching, research, outreach and student success efforts every day. From the classroom to the lab and beyond, their contributions ensure that our college continues to thrive.
This collective work is possible only with the continued support of our alumni, corporate partners and friends. You help us create opportunities, spark innovation and shape the future of engineering, computing and applied sciences. If you would like to help us continue this important work, please consider contributing a gift to the college by clicking the “Make a Gift” tab below. Your investment helps ensure that every student, researcher, staff member and graduate is equipped to lead, discover and inspire.
Sincerely,
Anand K. Gramopadhye, Dean
